Innovative Pathways Consultancy was set up to support organisations delivering supported living and social care services.
The consultancy is led by Adam Payne, who began his career in 2001 as a support worker supporting people with learning disabilities who had complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
In 2003 Adam moved into community outreach work supporting people with mental health needs, personality disorders and learning disabilities to live independently within the community.
Over time he progressed into management roles and later into senior operational roles overseeing services across multiple regions and teams.
Throughout his career Adam has worked across a wide range of services including supported living, community outreach and housing-related support.
He later moved into senior roles focused on service improvement, workforce development and the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support approaches across services.
Adam has delivered training since 2018 and was recognised nationally when he received the National Care Award for Care Trainer in 2018.
He has now delivered training to over 6,000 staff across health and social care services, alongside providing consultancy, mentoring and service development support to organisations.
Innovative Pathways is a family-run consultancy bringing together experience from social care, education and frontline support.
While the consultancy is led by Adam Payne, the wider team brings a range of perspectives that strengthen the work delivered through Innovative Pathways.
This includes experience in frontline support roles within social care services, insight from the education sector and practical experience supporting organisations to develop and improve services.
Working as a small and flexible team allows Innovative Pathways to offer a more personal approach when supporting organisations. Projects are delivered collaboratively, drawing on different areas of experience to provide practical insight and support.
The aim is always to combine operational experience, workforce development and service insight to help organisations strengthen practice and deliver high-quality support.
HOW WE SUPPORT SERVICES
Innovative Pathways Ltd provides focused, outcome-led support to services that need to improve, stabilise or move forward.
Our work is structured around clearly defined projects. We assess what is happening within a service, identify where changes are needed, and support teams to implement practical approaches that improve day-to-day delivery.
We work alongside managers and staff to bring clarity, consistency and direction, particularly where services are experiencing challenges or where a clear plan is needed.
Our support is delivered flexibly around the needs of the service. This may include work outside of standard hours, such as evenings, weekends and bank holidays, particularly where services require timely input or are experiencing periods of instability.
Support is not based on providing additional staffing or ongoing presence. Instead, we focus on delivering targeted input that leads to sustainable change within the service.
